How to Share Files to Mainland China Users?

Currently the url https://app.nihaoconsult.com is our MAIN official domain usable from anywhere in the worlds otherwise you can login to it from our website by clicking login in https://sesamedisk.com. This is enough information for you to use the system. Additionally:

1. You can use Share with China feature designed for the Chinese market. The feature generates a link with password. you can use it per Pic 1 in the center next to Generate. You can see this window on any folder and files by clicking the orange share icon
2. Aside Purely public shares without passwords do not work in China without a VPN. Is not allowed by the Government.
3. The recommended way to share confidentially with China is the multiuser accounts as they are what the platform is designed for in the first place. That way you can leverage the internal links and all of their features. This is also a great feature for two ways sharing.
4. From mid 2023 onwards you need a premium plan to be able to share with china or anywhere else. This was done due to security issues as the free accounts were being exploited to share illegal or harmful content.

The best solution to share files to Mainland China or within mainland China is by using "Shared Libraries" instead of using download links. In order to share a library with another user, you will need to add them to your organization. If you are a free user, you will need to upgrade your account to any of the paid packages with multiple users and add the desired number of users. This means the main site was blocked, then we had to find a way around it and yes, we might be blocked again. In that case we are committed to find another way as well.

To solve this issue we have a new domain:

Using these domain names Mainland China users can access files without needing a VPN. 

If you or your users are inside Mainland China, you can use https://app.nihaoconsult.com  to log in on NiHao Cloud and access the same files and libraries you have on app.nihaocloud.com.

Download Links

Every new download link still starts with the domain name app.nihaocloud.com meaning it is accessible everywhere in the world except Mainland China, for now. Therefore public download links in China WILL NOT work without VPN to share with china you will need internal links and multiuser accounts. 

Using Syncing Clients in China

If you are using Seafile Desktop syncing client or mobile it will not work in Mainland China if your server address is still https://app.nihaocloud.com/
